Position Summary:
This Research Engineer Job Chennai role under Saint-Gobain Careers involves working with R&D teams to study and analyze materials using advanced characterization techniques. Candidates will contribute to materials
development for Gyproc products, applying skills relevant to MSc Chemistry Freshers Job and Chemical Engineering Job profiles. The role includes hands-on work with XRD, SEM, Optical Microscopy, and thermal analysis while building strong structure–process–performance understanding.Qualification
Educational qualification: M.Tech / M.S/ M.E in Materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgy, Physics, Inorganic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering (with specialization or strong exposure to materials, metallurgy, process engineering, manufacturing technologies)
Industrial experience: added advantage.
Requirements:
- Strong background and fundamental understanding of inorganic materials, solids, oxides, and cementitious systems.
- Hands-on experience with materials characterization techniques such as XRD, SEM, optical microscopy, and thermal analysis (TGA/DSC).
- Good understanding of analytical software associated with the characterization techniques.
- Basic knowledge of sample preparation methods for powders and solids.
- Exposure to powder processing and handling.
- Ability to analyze data using Excel or other statistical tools.
- Modeling and simulation are an advantage, but not mandatory.
