Brief Job Overview
This non-supervisory position supports Reference materials development, working on isolation and purification projects in the synthetic and compendial development labs. The successful candidate will perform isolation and purification of impurities and compounds via preparative HPLC and ensure a safe, GLP-compliant environment.

Responsibilities of Scientist II:
Isolation Projects (60%)
- Execute isolation projects, including reaction monitoring, scale-up, and sample analysis per monograph/in-house procedures.
- Prepare development reports for synthetic support projects and assist with project acceptance.
Equipment & Laboratory Operations (15%)
- Prepare, execute, and complete IQ/OQ/PQ of new instruments.
- Manage laboratory supplies, maintain GLP, implement safety procedures, and perform additional projects as assigned.
Documentation & Compliance (10%)
- Prepare SOPs, protocols, reports, and ensure project requirements in coordination with Purchasing.
- Ensure equipment calibration schedules are met and maintain records.
Quality Assurance (10%)
- Actively participate in ISO-9001 certification/recertification processes and address audit issues.
- Engage in cross-functional teams as required and take on additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (5%)
Practice DEIB principles within USP India.
Candidate Requirements
Education:Â
MSc in Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or M. Pharm with 3-6 years in Analytical R&D.
Technical Skills:
- Hands-on experience in chemical methods, instruments like preparative HPLC, HPLC, FTIR, and wet chemistry.
- Proficient in HPLC method development and process analytical chemistry.
- Experience in GMP/GLP environments and documentation procedures.
Additional Competencies:
- Technical writing and verbal communication skills.
- Team-oriented, interpersonal skills.
Additional Preferences
- Knowledge of LCMS and other spectroscopic techniques.
- Familiarity with ELN, Empower, NuGenesis, and electronic notebook documentation.
