Job Description
- Assist in the production of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) under the supervision of experienced staff.
- Learn and adhere to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and safety protocols.
- Support the preparation and monitoring of production processes, including equipment setup and operation.
- Conduct routine quality checks and documentation as required.
- Participate in training sessions and actively seek opportunities to enhance technical and operational skills.
Responsibilities
- Allocates workmen for different workstations on a shift-to-shift basis.
- Ensure no stoppage of operation/machines due to non-availability of manpower or machine breakdowns.
- Maintains c-GMP practices along with documentation in various records.
- Supervises line operations and participates in validation activities as per protocol.
- Fills in process parameters & manufacturing documentation in conformance with cGMP.
- Involved in the manufacturing and documentation of pilot batches in the existing pilot plant.
- Fills and checks BMR before submission to superiors.
- Involved in the manufacturing and documentation of trial/pre-exhibit/exhibit/commercial batches.
- Handles minor parametric setting issues in various machines and products.
- Monitors machine speed and output according to runtime.
- Conducts induction activities for new joiners.
- Provides on-job/classroom training to workmen and supervisors for SOP and cGMP systems.
- Monitors and reports unauthorized movement of workmen from the line.
- Randomly checks compressed/coated tablets or filled capsules and reports discrepancies to superiors.
- Verifies balances on a daily and monthly basis.
- Takes on the responsibilities of the immediate supervisor in their absence.
- Participates in machine qualification activities.
- Engages in SFTI & 5S activities.
- Checks calibration tags of equipment, instruments, and fire extinguishers for their due dates.
- Involved in ISO 14000 & 13485 activities.
- Checks line clearance during batch changeovers.
- Performs any other activity assigned by the supervisor/company as deemed appropriate.
- Conducts in-process testing as defined in the Batch Manufacturing Record.
- Performs a summary after completion of sub-processes like compression and coating.
Qualifications
- M.Sc in Chemistry.
- Basic understanding of chemical processes and laboratory techniques.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
