Advertisement for the post of Junior Research Assistant (JRA) for the UPCST-sponsored Project
Applications are invited from Indian citizens, who are residents of Uttar Pradesh, for the post of Junior Research Assistant (JRA) for a research project entitled “Synthesis and Evaluation of Nitrogen Tethered Derivatives in Cell-Based and Animal Models of Acute Lung Injury” (Project ID-4041) (Sanction letter no. CST/CHEM/D 679 DATED 02.08.2024), sponsored by the Council of Science and Technology, U.P., Lucknow.
The position is purely temporary with a consolidated stipend of INR 25,000/- per month for the first two years and INR 28,000/- per month for the third year (without any benefits of HRA, CCA, PF, LTC, medical claim, etc.) and will be governed by the funding agency CST U.P. guidelines and the service conditions of NIPER-Raebareli.
The duly completed application (as per attached proforma), along with self-attested copies of supporting documents, must reach the Principal Investigator (PI), Dr. Sandeep Chandrashekharappa, Department of Medicinal Chemistry, NIPER-Raebareli, Transit Campus, Bijnor-Sisendi Road , Sarojini Nagar, Near CRPF Base Camp, Lucknow (UP) – 226002. The envelope should be superscribed as “Application for the post of JRA for UPCST sponsored Project”. A scanned copy of the duly filled and signed application form, along with all the certificates, may also be sent via email to PI: [email protected] and/or to Co-PI: Dr. Rakesh Kumar Singh, Associate Professor & Head, Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, at [email protected], with the subject line “Application for the post of JRA for UPCST sponsored project”.

- Essential qualifications: The candidate should possess an M.Pharm/M.S.(Pharm.)/M.Sc. in Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or a PG degree in a relevant branch of Chemical Sciences. High academic achievement with 1st class in graduate and post-graduate examinations with fulfillment of basic qualifications is required.
- Desirable skills: Preference may be given to candidates with exposure to organic synthesis, characterization, and purification.
- Age limit: Maximum 28 years as of 1st April 2024 (age relaxation for SC/ST/PH as per GoI rules).
- Tenure of Appointment: 3 years
The performance of the recruited JRA will be evaluated at the end of one year from the start of the project and will be extended for another two years based on satisfactory performance.
Notes:
- The candidate must be a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
- Mere possession of the prescribed qualification does not ensure that the candidate will be called for an interview. The candidate will be shortlisted based on merit and project requirements.
- Shortlisted candidates will be informed by email about the interview schedule within 2 weeks of the last date of application.
- Shortlisted candidates must be physically present for the interview along with original certificates.
- No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview.
- Since the position is purely temporary, no claim for regular appointment or continuation of services in any other project will be entertained.
