Lab overview:

The Laboratory for Paper-Based Microfluidic Technologies, led by Dr. Bhushan Toley, is renowned for developing innovative medical diagnostic technologies and is recognized internationally as a leading research group in this area.

Project Objective:

Innovative diagnostics often require uniquely tailored nanomaterials. This role focuses on developing methods for the stable conjugation of nanoparticles with biomolecules such as proteins, antibodies, and DNA to enhance the sensitivity of lateral flow assays. The ideal candidate will independently navigate scientific literature, inspire innovation, and efficiently refine bioconjugation protocols.

The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s degree in organic or inorganic chemistry and have at least two years of demonstrated experience (through papers, posters, or thesis work) in protein or antibody conjugation to nanomaterials like gold, silver, or carbon nanomaterials. We’re also open to exploring adjacent profiles that demonstrate relevant skills and expertise. Key Responsibilities:

  • Synthesize and characterize core-shell nanoparticles.
  • Evaluate and document various covalent conjugation strategies.
  • Conduct covalent conjugation of proteins and antibodies to the nanomaterials.
  • Draft detailed protocols and methodologies for publications.

Required qualification:

  • A Master’s degree in Organic or Inorganic Chemistry or an equivalent field from a recognized institution.
  • Proven experience in nanoparticle synthesis and characterization.
  • Optional: Experience in protein conjugation to nanomaterials.

Title and remuneration These will align with your academic qualification and experience according to Government of India norms for scientific personnel.
