Researcher/Principal Researcher Lubricant Application
3 – 8 Years, 1 Opening, Jamshedpur
Role Description Purpose of the Job:
- Experience in formulating cold/hot rolling lubricant and thorough knowledge of the application.
- Characterization and testing of lubricants.
- Monitor lubricant health in rolling mills and maintain a database to ensure compliance with standards.
- Understanding lubricant application in rolling mills and assisting the team in defect identification and lubricant trials with coordination between R&D, Quality, and Operations.
- Design and fabricate experimental setups or techniques to simulate plant conditions.
- Compile and interpret test results, write technical reports, and prepare graphs and charts.
- Maintain and uphold a safe work environment at the R&D laboratory.
- Order and inventory materials and spares to maintain supply.
Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor lubricant health across cold rolling mills and maintain a database.
- Coordinate and assist cross-functional teams (R&D, Quality, and Operations) during defect identification and lubricant trials in the plant.
- Ensure safety and ISO compliance in the laboratory.
- Compile, interpret test results, and write technical reports.
- Characterization and testing of lubricants.
Skills:
- Should possess prior knowledge of rolling oil development, steel rolling mills, and lubricant application.
Other Details: Qualifications:
- M.Tech/PhD in Chemical/Oil/Petrochemicals/Polymer Engineering
- M.Sc in Chemistry
Minimum 3 years of working experience in the area of lubricant formulation and application. Experience in developing rolling oils will be an added advantage.
