Advertisement for the position of Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) under the ICMR-funded project at the Institute of Nano Science and Technology
Applications are invited from highly motivated and bright candidates for engagement of Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) in the research project funded by ICMR, Government of India, at the Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Mohali.
Title of the Research Project: Noninvasive and in situ forming peptide-polymer hydrogel containing CPP decorated nanoparticles/photoresponsive agents with crystallin aggregates disaggregating propensity for potential cataract therapy
Nature of the Project: The computational & bio-informatic part of the project will be conducted in strong collaboration with the experimental counterparts, Dr. Jiban J. Panda (Principal Investigator).

Qualifications:
Essential:
- First Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG Degrees (Computational Biology/Chemistry, BioSciences/Chemical Biology/Bioinformatics)
- Second Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG Degrees with PhD (Computational Biology/Chemistry, BioSciences/Chemical Biology/Bioinformatics)
Desirable Experience: Research experience in Computational Biology/Chemistry and Bioinformatics, Molecular Dynamics Simulations, programming knowledge in Phyton, and experience in handling big data and Data Analysis, Density Functional Theory (DFT)
Age limit: Must not be over 35 years as of 29.03.2024, which is relaxable for specific reserved categories as per the rules of the Government of India.
Fellowship: Rs. 56,000/- pm + HRA as applicable

Mode of Interview: Hybrid mode (Online/Offline)
Duration: Initially one year and may be extended based on the performance of the candidate and availability of funds.
General Terms and Conditions:
- The position is purely temporary basis and renewable each year, subject to satisfactory performance for a maximum of four years/till the completion of the project, whichever is earlier. The position is co-terminus with the project.
- No TA/DA will be paid to attend the interview.
- Original documents of age proof/certificates/degrees/mark sheets and other testimonials must be presented along with the self-attested photocopies of these documents at the interview (when the interview will take in person).
- Only shortlisted candidates will be communicated to appear in the interview through email, and no other communication in this regard will be entertained.
