Project Associate-I Position under a SERB Funded Project at Department of Chemical Sciences, IISER Kolkata
Applications are invited for Project Associate – I (PA-I) position (one) under the supervision of Prof. Sanjio S. Zade, Department of Chemical Sciences, IISER Kolkata. The position is for only one year but may be extended up to the end of the project, depending on the performance of the candidate. The project work involves (i) the synthesis of conjugated small molecules and polymers, (ii) study of their photophysical properties and (iii) application in the photocatalytic reactions. The project is funded by SERB under CRG scheme.

- Principle Investigator: Prof. Sanjio S. Zade, Department of Chemical Sciences, IISER Kolkata
- Remuneration: 31000 INR per month + 24% HRA.
- Tenure: 1 year (extendable on satisfactory performance till the end of the project duration, February 2027, depending on satisfactory performance and the availability of funds)
- Essential Eligibility Criteria: M.Sc. in Chemistry (preferably organic/inorganic specialization) / Masters in Material Science or equivalent degree with minimum 60% marks or CGPA of 8 or above (Desirable: CSIR UGC NET LS or GATE)
- Additional experience and qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with a prior research experience.
- Age limit: 26 years as of 22 March 2024, which can be relaxed for specific reserved categories as per the rules of the Government of India. Relaxation in age, educational qualification or experience may be considered in the case of exceptionally deserving candidates.

- Terms and Conditions: i) The decision of the selection committee will be final. ii) If the number of candidates appearing for the interview is large, the selection committee may restrict the number of candidates for the interview to a reasonable limit after considering qualifications and experience over and above the minimum prescribed in the advertisement. iii) The appointment of the candidate will be governed by the terms and conditions of the funding agency, particularly applicable to the said project. iv) The selected candidate will have to join duty immediately upon receiving the offer. v) The fellowship may be terminated with a 30-day notice before completing the tenure if performance to date is not deemed satisfactory.
