Essential Qualification (s)
Educational –
A- EDUCATIONAL
(A) (i) Master’s Degree in any branch of chemistry (but excluding bio-chemistry) from a recognized University or Institution and
(ii) One year experience in Chemical or Petrochemical in Central Government/ State Government/ Union Territory Administrations/ Public Sector Undertakings/ Universities/ Recognized Research Institutions/ Semi Government or Autonomous Bodies/ Statutory Organizations/ Listed Private Sector Organizations/Corporate Entities which are listed on the recognized stock exchanges of the country/ the companies with public shareholding dealing with Chemicals or Petrochemicals.
OR
(B) (i) Bachelor’s degree in Chemical engineering or Chemical Technology from a recognized University or Institution and.
(ii) Two years experience in Chemical or Petrochemical in Central Government/ State Government/ Union Territory Administrations/ Public Sector Undertakings/ Universities/ Recognized Research Institutions/ Semi Government or Autonomous Bodies/ Statutory Organizations/ Listed Private Sector Organizations/Corporate Entities which are listed on the recognized stock exchanges of the country/ the companies with public shareholding dealing with Chemicals or Petrochemicals.
Duty(ies)
Matters related to Indian Petrochemicals & Chemical industry and various international conventions of which India is a party. To examine Industrial License approvals, 100% Export oriented cases, Proposal for foreign collaborations and FDI cases, trade related issues, Concessional Rate of Customs Duty under Project Imports, Input-Output norms related to C&PC Sectors.

Headquarters – Headquarters in Kolkata. Candidate is liable to serve anywhere in India in NTH’s Regional Offices.

Any Other Conditions – These posts are Non-Ministerial and permanent in nature.

Essential Qualification (s)
Educational –
A. EDUCATIONAL
Master’s Degree in Physics/ Chemistry from a recognized University or Institute or Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering/ Chemical Technology/Textile Technology/ Rubber Technology/ Plastic Engineering/ Polymer and Rubber Technology from a recognized University or Institute.
B EXPERIENCE
01 year practical experience in the testing and evaluation of materials such as Textile, Polymer, Paper, Leather, Rubber etc in a recognised Laboratory or Institute for candidates holding Master’s Degree in Physics or Master’s Degree in Chemistry.
OR
02 years practical experience in the testing and evaluation of materials such as Textile, Polymer, Paper, Leather, Rubber etc in a recognised Laboratory or Institute for candidates holding Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering/ Chemical Technology/Textile Technology/ Rubber Technology/ Plastic Engineering/ Polymer and Rubber Technology.
Note- (i) The qualification are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Desirable Qualification (s):
Training in Modern instrumental methods of Testing Textiles, Rubber, Polymer, Paper, Leather etc .
Duty(ies)
Scientist ‘B’ (Physical Rubber, Plastic and Textile)is overall in-charge of PRPT discipline. He scrutinizes the test requests/forwarding letters, allocates the samples to the Scientific Officer and Scientific Assistant, supervises & sorts out the technical/administrative problems. Checks the draft test certificates and signs the final test certificates. Initiates all purchase cases & assists Scientist ‘C’ in all technical/purchase/administrative matters.

- Candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs. 25/- (Rupees Twenty five) only either by
remitting the money in any branch of the SBI by cash or by using the net banking facility of the SBI or by using a visa/master credit/debit card. - No fee for SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates of any community. No “fee exemption” is
available to Gen/OBC/EWS male candidates and they are required to pay the full prescribed fee. - Applications without the prescribed fee would not be considered and summarily rejected. No representation against such rejection would be entertained.
- Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstance nor can the fee be held in reserve for any other examination or selection.
