What You Will Do
The position is responsible for:
- Handling individual projects across the Asia Pacific Region (APAC) with a global perspective. Their responsibilities extend to supporting global base business and chemical resiliency operations, particularly in addressing supplier-driven changes, cost improvement projects and troubleshooting for both internal and external manufacturing sites. This position operates in close collaboration with global business partners, contributing significantly to the delivery of impactful global initiatives.
- Additionally, the Scientist at RMC (R&D) takes on the exciting task of executing raw material projects, enhancing existing marketed products that include renowned brands such as NEUTROGENA®, AVEENO®, TYLENOL®, LISTERINE®, JOHNSON’S®, and BAND-AID®.
Key Responsibilities
As a Scientist in the Raw Material Change Management workstream at APAC Raw Material Center, this role is characterized by a diverse and impactful set of responsibilities:
- Swiftly drive the execution of raw material qualification projects for cost improvement projects, raw material discontinuations, and supplier-driven changes. This is achieved through close collaboration with the Global RMC team and R&D.
- Conduct thorough assessments of the impact of raw material changes on formulations across the spectrum of skin care, hair care, baby care, and oral care categories.
- Meticulously document change control and related activities in various systems, adhering to defined processes with a commitment to compliance.
- Demonstrate proficiency in preparing and documenting laboratory-scale batches for diverse personal care products, spanning skin care, hair care, baby care, and oral care categories.
- Craft compelling technical justifications, reports, and summaries based on robust scientific experimentation and rationale, ensuring harmonization with project leads.
- Cultivate strong collaboration with cross-functional teams, including R&D formulators and MS&T Scientists, to facilitate seamless communication and ensure the timely sharing of qualification data before implementing raw material changes in both internal and external manufacturing sites.
Qualifications
What We Are Looking For
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years in FMCG sector.
- Bachelors/master’s in pharmacy, B. Tech in Cosmetic Technology/Chemical Engineering.
Desired Qualifications
- Possesses knowledge regarding raw materials and their implications on personal care formulations.
- Demonstrates an initial proficiency in change management, particularly in the context of raw material qualifications for personal care products.
- Exhibits adequate knowledge in technical writing, GxP principles (Good Practices), and familiarity with quality systems.
- Displays good communication skills, essential for conveying ideas, insights, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Possesses a genuine passion for diving into the complexities of raw material chemistry, showcasing a keen interest in understanding its profound impact on formulation.
- Demonstrates proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office tools, ensuring efficiency in documentation and communication.
- Exhibits a rapid learning curve and adaptability, showcasing an ability to swiftly grasp new concepts and adapt to evolving scenarios within the domain.
