Call for Research Staff (JRF/PA-I) Position Under SERB Funded Research Project

Applications are invited for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF)/Project Associate-I (PA-I) position in the Department of Chemistry at BITS Pilani, K. K. Birla Goa Campus, Goa for a Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) sponsored research project entitled with “Bioinspired Metallopeptide Hydrogels for Value Added Chemicals” for a temporary period purely in contractual basis as per the following details:

Funding Agency: Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB)
Duration of the project: 3 Years
Fellowship Amount (Rs.): 31,000/- (initially first two years) and 35,000/- (afterword till the end of the project) per month for NET/GATE qualified candidates + HRA as per the guidelines if applicable / 25,000/- (initially first two years) and 28,000/- (afterword till the end of the project) per month for non-NET/non-GATE qualified candidates + HRA as per the guidelines if applicable.
Job Description: The selected candidate is expected to perform lab experiments, writing reports/articles in good English based on the experimental findings of research followed by publications in peer-reviewed journals. Candidates with basic understanding in Organic Chemistry, Organic Synthesis
, Reagent Chemistry, Coupling Agents, Peptide Chemistry, Biomolecules, Supramolecular Chemistry, General Chemistry, Electrochemistry and Photochemistry will be preferred.Qualification: Post Graduate Degree in Chemistry (with at least 60 % marks) Or M.E./M.Tech. (with at least 60 % marks) in Chemical Engineering/Material Sciences/ Nano Technology or Relevant areas Or M.Pharm. Or Selected through a process described through any one of the following (Experience in Synthetic Organic Chemistry/Peptide Chemistry Related Project Work and NET/GATE qualified fellows will be given preference): Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests- CSIR –UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE Or The Selection process through National level examinations conducted by central Government departments and their agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc.
Upper Age Limit: Are not exceeding 35 years as on the date of interview. Age relaxation is allowed up to 5 years for SC/ST/PH/OBC/Women candidates.
Accommodation: Hostel accommodation will be provided subject to availability and will be governed by the rules and regulations of the Institute prevailing at the time of joining of the candidate.
