CALL FOR RESEARCH STAFF POSITION
About: Applications are invited from interested and motivated candidates for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a time-bound research project sponsored by the Science & Engineering Research Board – State University Research Excellence (SERB, F. No. SUR/2022/001519) for a temporary period purely on contractual basis as per the following details:

Project Title: Excited state (anti)aromaticity-guided charge transfer fluorophore research for biological imaging

Principal Investigator (PI): Dr. Avik Kumar Pati, Department of Chemistry (PI- BITS Pilani, Pilani Campus)
Project Tenure: 3 Years
Job Description:
The candidate is required to perform fluorophore synthesis, photophysical, photochemical and computational pursuits in a goal to develop photostable charge transfer probes for biological imaging. The candidate will also work collaboratively with our national and international collaborators to achieve specific mechanistic goals for these research initiatives. The candidate’s additional responsibility will be to work with other members of the group to expedite the progress of the current research area. Correspondingly
, the candidate is expected to serve in an active role seeking to publish primary research manuscripts and plenary review articles at the frontiers of fluorescence imaging research.Qualification:
- Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Chemistry with at least 60% marks having strong interest in Physical Chemistry
- Self-motivated, keen to learn new methods, ability to solve problems independently
- Good proficiency in technical writing
Desirable: GATE/NET qualified
Upper Age Limit: Age not exceeding 30 years as of the date of the interview. Age relaxation is allowed up to 5 years for SC/ST/PH/OBC/WOMEN candidates.
Fellowship:
- 31,000/- (initially first two years) and 35,000 (afterward till the end of the project) per month for GATE/NET-qualified candidates.
- 25,000/-(initially first two years) and Rs 28,000 (afterward till the end of the project) per month for non-NET/GATE qualified candidates.
Registration for PhD.: Selected candidates may be permitted to register for the PhD program of BITS Pilani subject to fulfilling the requirements of the PhD qualification process as per the institute norms.
