Role description
Researcher/Principal Researcher: Iron Making Res Group(Combustion)
As a part of Iron Making Research group, you are expected to:
1)Perform numerical simulations(CFD)of combustion processes in ANSYS FLUENT,CFX or equivalent commercial softwares to develop design solutions to improve process efficiency and for reduction in CO2 footprint while saving costs.
2)Build experimental facilities, visualization techniques, characterization methods to evaluate combustion behavior of different fuels
3)Co-ordinate with various agencies (plant operations, maintenance teams as well as technology group) and perform plant scale trials to generate substantial research output.
4)Develop ideas and concepts and contribute to the overall progress of the group. Network and collaborate with different research teams and different IITs, NITs to execute on technical projects
Skills
Primary skill:
•Demonstrate fundamental knowledge in heat transfer, fluid flow with specialization or experience in multiphase reacting flow
•Advanced computational or experimental skills from “Start to finish” to provide physics-based insights to guide deign and innovation
Secondary skill:
Plan, conceptualize and build experimental facility.

M.Tech./M.S./M.E./Ph.D.

1.1-8 year of work experience in modelling reacting flow, multiphase flow etc.
