Role:

As a Advanced Analytics for Bars Structuring and New Technologies, SA Liquids Preservation Lead, S(he) will be responsible for leading and driving several key initiatives within our organization, including the decoding of structuring (NSD/NMB) and input into process modelling based on First Principles, supporting the Phosphate Exit strategy through mechanistic understanding of new technologies and driving intellectual property (IP), developing new methods for technologies aligned with our innovation/5S program, and leading the preservation strategy for South Asia while collaborating closely with the Unilever Preservation Team.

  • Lead Bars Analytical Program: Take charge of the Bars Analytical Program, utilizing your expertise in Analytical Chemistry to decode the structuring (NSD/NMB) and effectively input the findings into process modelling based on First Principles. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop accurate and efficient process models that enhance product performance and quality.
  • Support Phosphate Exit: Play a pivotal role in the Phosphate Exit strategy by applying your mechanistic understanding of new technologies. Conduct thorough research and analysis to contribute to the development of innovative solutions, while actively driving intellectual property (IP) generation and protection. Work closely with stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of new technologies and achieve business objectives.
  • New Method Development: Take the lead in developing new analytical methods for technologies aligned with our innovation/5S program. Utilize your technical expertise to design and optimize analytical protocols, ensuring accurate and precise analysis of various compounds and materials. Stay updated with the latest advancements in analytical chemistry and implement innovative approaches to enhance analytical capabilities.
  • Lead Preservation Strategy for South Asia: Assume responsibility for developing and implementing the preservation strategy for South Asia. Collaborate with Program Leads and work closely with the Unilever Preservation Team to identify and address preservation challenges. Develop and execute initiatives that optimize preservation processes and ensure the highest standards of product quality and safety.
  • Collaborate with HC Bars Technology and Material Expertise Team Analytical team and MIF to step up mechanistic understanding on Bars Structuring.
  • Build strong Partner program on HC Bars and evaluate Joint Development opportunities, where needed.
  • Build strong technical team by developing exceptional talents.
  • Set stretching targets and ensure appropriate coaching and mentoring is in place to support direct reports.
  • Motivate team in highly challenging circumstances.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE:

  • PhD/Postgraduate in Chemistry or B. Tech (Chemical Engineering)
  • Minimum 7-10 years’ Industry experience, preferably in NSD Bar formulation development

SKILLS:

  • Strong business acumen to strike right balance between short term and medium to long term priorities for business growth.
  • Strong communication, experience of working in matrix system, building partnership framework, ability to lead high performing team, stakeholder management and line management are necessary skills for this job.
