Applications are invited for one post of Junior Research Fellow at a fixed fellowship of Rs.
31,000 per month and 16% HRA in a Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB)
Sponsored Project (under POWER Research Grants scheme) entitled “Crack modulation in
dried colloidal films by soft additives” sanctioned up to 2025. The post is purely temporary
and co-terminus with the project. The candidates should possess the essential qualifications.
Eligbility Criteria:
B. Tech. /M. Tech in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Production
and Industrial Engineering or M.Sc. in Chemistry with a valid GATE score. The upper
Age Limit is 28 Years (relaxable for 5 years for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped/Female
candidates. All other factors being equal, SC/ST candidates will be preferred as per GOI rules.
Essential qualifications: B. Tech. /M. Tech in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical
Engineering or Production and Industrial Engineering or M.Sc. in Chemistry with valid GATE
score.
Desirable qualifications: Prior experience in optical microscopy, high speed imaging and
rheometer operation is desirable. Experimentalist with strong background in fluid mechanics will be an added advantage.

Note:
1. Interview date will be communicated via email. Only short listed candidates will be
communicated through email to appear for the interview. No TA/DA will be paid if called for
interview. The PI has the discretion to restrict the number of candidates to be called for
interview to a reasonable limit by qualifications and experience higher than the minimum
prescribed in the advertisement.
2. Candidates may subsequently register for PhD program in the Department of Chemical
Engineering & Technology, IIT (BHU), Varanasi if they fulfil other requisite criteria as per PG
ordinance.
