Eligbility Criteria & Experience: 

Educational attainment equivalent to graduation college/university with a master’s degree in chemistry, Engineering, or a related field

Minimum of five years of broad coatings research or related field experience

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES RECOMMENDED FOR POSITION:

• Broad knowledge of coatings technology and how it relates to manufacturing a quality product
• Thorough and advanced knowledge of the technology activities associated with assigned section
• Knowledge of nature and importance of interdepartmental relationships with the R&D function
• Knowledge of computer hardware and software systems and applications
• Ability to work independently in managing the activities of the assigned section
• Project management, training and supervisory skills and procedures
• Good communication & people management skills

JOB SCOPE/ SUMMARY:

Direct specific segment of department technology activity, which may include support for new or existing quality products

and new technology scouting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Coach and mentor technical personnel.
• Direct and coordinate laboratory activity in a specific area such as Product Development, Product Upgrade, handling different activities in Exposure, Audit & Benchmarking & Application groups.
• Lead section activities advise and update manager accordingly.
  Make key decisions relating to section activities in the absence of manager.
• Define procedures; develop plans, direct projects within assigned section.
• Write and present management reports on section activities.
• Assist in monitoring project milestones, including eliminating potential pitfalls and bottlenecks.
• Assist in implementing equipment upgrades and making staffing decisions.
