Applications are invited from interested and motivated candidates for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF)/ Project Associate-1 in a time bound research project for a temporary period purely on contractual basis as per the following details:

Project Title: Use of distillery and domestic wastewater to generate hydrogen and development of a prototype thereof

Principal Investigator: Dr. Somak Chatterjee, Department of Chemical Engineering
Co- Principal Investigator: Prof. Surojit Pande, Department of Chemistry
Project Tenure: 24 Months
Job Description: Selected student will be carrying out the following works: (a) Preparation and of zeolite bed for removal of contaminants from various grades of wastewater, (b) Preparation of novel electro catalyst for hydrogen generation from the purified wastewater, (c) Evaluation and performance assessment of the zeolite bed and the
electro catalyst, (d) Performance tuning and modelling of the same, (e) Lab based
prototype fabrication and (f) maintain records, documentation and give regular
updates to the PI, Co-PI and the funding organization
Qualification: M.E./M.Tech in Chemical/Material Science Engineering or allied branches or M.Sc. (Inorganic/Physical Chemistry) with at least
60% marks. Candidates with NET/GATEqualification are desirable with prior knowledge in: (a) Basic concepts of electrochemistry and nanomaterials development (b) Wastewater treatment through zeolite bed and water quality analysis (c) Good lab ethics and professional transparency.
Fellowship: 25,000/-per month
Registration for PhD.: Selected candidates will be given the opportunity for a full time PhD program at BITS, Pilani as per the institute norms.
