Job Title: Process Engineer

What We Need from You?

  • Masters or Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering with 3+ years of oil and gas industry experience with technical grounding in process engineering
  • Proven track record of delivering as part of a multidiscipline team of technical professionals, demonstrating professional curiosity to learn, and identifying improvements with bottom line impact.
  • Understanding of the integrated relationship between Subsurface, Wells, and Surface solutions will be an advantage
  • Collaboration, communication, and integration are important elements of the role, as much of the experience needed sits with other teams, or in lines of businesses across the globe and candidate will need to be able to leverage optimally as well as integrate with Subsurface, Wells & Business/Commercial.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to identify and support key decisions to be made at the various development stages that improve the overall end-to-end value of the project.
  • Ability and enthusiasm to play an active role within the Front-End Team and the global Developments Community by participating in networking events, presenting at internal conferences, or sharing lessons learnt across the community.

What is the Role?

This role is part of the FEE team that supports the maturation of various opportunities in the COG portfolio. In this role you will form part of a dynamic Bangalore front end engineering community which will work closely and collaborate with the community in other hubs and upstream assets.

  • You will carry out process engineering activities to support identification and development of competitive and credible surface facilities solutions required to realize the full value of our opportunities. As a key player in our GHG agenda, you will contribute to making sure that our opportunities are also competitive from a greenhouse gas perspective and underpin the next generation of projects for Shell, enabling us to thrive in the Energy Transition.
  • You are expected to mostly work in support of a Principal or Senior Concept Engineer or Concept Engineer who will be the surface lead for the opportunity/project. You may also take a lead role on a smaller opportunity with accountability to integrate and deliver front end engineering through a range of surface disciplines as part of a natural team. You will support the drive for competitiveness from project inception through application of the company competitiveness tools, standardized solutions, systems engineering, championing low GHG technologies, and learning from others. You will assist in setting up the projects up for smooth transition into FEED, Detailed Design and execution through collaboration with the receiving projects organization on key deliverables and strategies.
  • To work effectively in the new organization, you need to learn quickly from others and focus activities towards supporting a quality decision.
  • As a member of the front-end engineering team, you will be expected to contribute to continuous improvement and build networks with the global Concept Engineering community, and local Projects and Operations communities.

Answer: As a learner with a growth mindset, I believe in continuous improvement and keeping up with the latest developments and technologies in process engineering. I participate in networking events, present at internal conferences, and share lessons learnt across the community. Answer: I contribute towards the energy transition by acquiring or sharpening expertise to support a wide range of Shell’s businesses and by leveraging these skills to add value to the Energy Transition. I work closely with the front-end engineering team to identify and develop competitive and credible surface facilities solutions required to realize the full value of our opportunities. I also play an active role within the Front-End Team and the global Developments Community.
