Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical and Quantum Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Spectroscopy, Interdisciplinary topics from post graduate level curriculum of all leading Indian Universities.

Eligibility Criteria and Syllabus for the PG programs
M.Sc. in Chemistry Bachelor’s degree with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade
point in major/ honours in Chemistry
as well as in aggregate if not having major/ honours in Chemistry. Also,
candidates should have Physics or Mathematics as subsidiary subjects in bachelor’s degree.
Inorganic Chemistry, Quantum Chemistry & Chemical Bonding, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Spectroscopy from Undergraduate level curriculum of all leading Indian Universities.
Reservation and relaxation: As per GoI Rules.
As per Directives of GoI, supernumerary seats are available in the following categories:
i. Sports quota: The University reserved 5 seats with not more than one seat per Department on supernumerary basis for the candidates with medals in National/International sports events. However, they will have to satisfy the prescribed eligibility criteria.
ii. Defense quota: Up to 5% of the approved seats are reserved for the widows/wards/wives of Armed Forces personnel and Ex-Servicemen as per the priorities set by GoI.

- What is your research experience in the field of Chemical Sciences?
A: I have completed my Master’s degree in Chemistry and have worked on a research project during my postgraduate studies. The project was focused on synthesizing novel organic compounds and characterizing their chemical properties. I also presented my findings at a national conference on Chemistry.
2. What is your understanding of the eligibility criteria for the Ph.D. program in Chemistry at Tezpur University?
A: The eligibility criteria for the Ph.D. program in Chemistry at Tezpur University requires candidates to have a Master’s degree in Chemistry or allied subjects like Chemical Sciences, Polymer Chemistry, Polymer Science, Physics, Nano Science, Material Science, or Environmental Science. Alternatively, candidates can have an M.E./M.Tech. degree in allied subjects like Chemical Engineering, Polymer Technology, Material Sciences, Environmental Engineering, or Energy.
3. What are your research interests, and how do they align with the research focus of the Chemistry Department at Tezpur University?
A: My research interests include organic chemistry, synthesis of novel organic compounds, and their characterization using various analytical techniques. I believe that these research interests align well with the research focus of the Chemistry Department at Tezpur University, which includes organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical and quantum chemistry, polymer chemistry, analytical chemistry, and spectroscopy.
4. Have you previously worked on interdisciplinary research projects, and how did you handle the challenges that came with it?
A: Yes, I have previously worked on interdisciplinary research projects that involved collaborating with researchers from different fields like physics, materials science, and environmental science. Handling the challenges that came with it required effective communication, patience, and adaptability. I had to learn the language and techniques used in these fields, which helped me to bridge the gap between different disciplines and work towards a common goal.
5. What do you think are the potential implications of your research for the scientific community and society as a whole?
A: The potential implications of my research include the development of novel organic compounds that can have applications in various fields like pharmaceuticals, materials science, and environmental remediation. The characterization of these compounds using various analytical techniques can also contribute to the development of new analytical tools and techniques. These research outcomes can have significant implications for the scientific community and society as a whole by addressing various societal and environmental challenges.
