NIAB invites applications from suitably qualified, dynamic, result oriented and dedicated
Indian citizens for filling up the following Contract positions for 11 months at NIAB:

Job Title: Technical Assistant

No. of Posts: 1 (One)

Age: Not exceeding 35 Years

Monthly Emoluments:
Rs. Upto 40,000/- Consolidated

Eligbility Criteria: B.V.Sc./ B.Pharm or M.Sc. in Zoology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry /
Biomedical Science as one of the subjects, preferably with experience in embryo or cell
culture, laboratory animal breeding and maintenance.

GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS:

1. Appointment will be made on contract for a period of 11 months. The contract is likely
to be extended.

2. All educational, professional and technical qualification should be from a recognized
Board/University.

3. The experience requirement specified above shall be the experience acquired after
obtaining the minimum educational qualifications specified for the post.

4. Closing date of application will be the CRUCIAL DATE for determining eligibility with
regard to age, essential qualification etc.

5. In case a large number of applications are received, in house screening will be done to
limit the number of

candidates to those possessing higher/relevant qualification and
experience. Screening committee’s decision will be final and cannot be challenged.

6. With regard to any provisions not covered in this notification, the bye laws of NIAB /
Govt. of India rules / guidelines shall prevail.

7. Incomplete applications and/or the applications received after the last date shall not be
considered.

8. Interim enquiries will not be entertained.

9. Amendment if any in future will be published on NIAB website only

along with valid email id. Already registered candidates, may login with the
existing username and password.

c) Mere submission of online application will be considered only.

d) All self-attested copies of the certificates, mark sheets, testimonials in support
of age, educational qualifications, experience, caste certificate (if applicable),

prescribed last date. Hard copy is not required.

e) Please note that the application without signature, or online applications are received
after due date & time or incomplete in any other aspect will be summarily rejected.

  1. What experience do you have in embryo or cell culture, laboratory animal breeding and maintenance?

Answer: As mentioned in my application, I have completed my M.Sc. in Biotechnology and have had practical experience in embryo and cell culture during my master’s program. Additionally, I have worked as a research assistant at a laboratory where I was responsible for breeding and maintenance of laboratory animals.

Answer: I would first try to troubleshoot the equipment to identify the issue. If I am unable to fix it, I will notify the concerned authorities and follow the protocols in place for handling such a situation. Depending on the severity of the issue, I may also document the incident and any actions taken for future reference.

3. What are the most important safety protocols to follow in a laboratory setting?

Answer: Safety protocols are critical in a laboratory setting to ensure the safety of personnel and to prevent accidents. Some of the important safety protocols include wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), following guidelines for handling hazardous materials, properly disposing of waste, and maintaining a clean workspace.

4. Have you ever faced a challenging situation while working in a laboratory, and how did you handle it?

Answer: Yes, there was a time when I encountered an unexpected problem while conducting an experiment. I discussed the issue with my supervisor and other colleagues, and we brainstormed solutions to fix the problem. Eventually, we were able to identify the issue and implement a solution to continue the experiment successfully.

5. What motivates you to work in a laboratory environment?

Answer: I am passionate about scientific research and believe that working in a laboratory allows me to contribute to meaningful discoveries. I am motivated by the opportunity to learn new techniques, collaborate with other scientists, and to make a positive impact through my work.
