Job Purpose

Unilever International is Unilever’s White Space Arm and considered the 7th operating clusters. It has a crossed a TO of 1.2 billion Euro, exit 2022, growing at healthy double digit with an ambition to be a 2Bn E business by 2022. On one hand UI is completely responsible for building

all of Unilever’s brands in white space geographies like Korea, Pacific Islands, Mongolia and on the other leading the launches of big brands like Dove, Lifebuoy, Sunlight, Fair & Lovely, Tresemme, BRU, Taj Mahal, Red Label and Knorr into big whitespace markets (for these brands) like the US, China, Western Europe, SAME&A and SEAA.

• As Unilever’s growth engine, UI is responsible for creating a global white space business in alternate channels like Travel retail, Hospitality, Discounter Channels, E Commerce Seeding in China and India, marketing to Institutional partners like the United Nations and seeding Unilever brands to overseas diaspora who miss their home brands.
• BPC is a big and critical part of the UI growth ambitions and has very ambitious plans. It is the most profitable biggest category in UI
• Singapore is UI’s global hub which leads strategy, marketing thinking, seeding plans, alignment with the global categories and supply chain whereas the R&D is led mainly from India (GTEC-UI).
• International Sourcing group is a part of global supply chain which supports sourcing of finished goods for OPCOs across the globe.
• This position will be responsible for B&W formulations.

Deliverables

• The job will lead all the R&D interventions for product development, implementations, & regulatory compliance (through PSOs and UI RA) for all clusters globally. Major HPC manufacturing locations in scope includes SA,SEA and EU, US whereas exports of products happens in to multiple clusters including SEA, EU, US and SEAA
• Drive the UI strategy from formulations point of view in B&W BG
• Identification and deployment of appropriate global mixes for the various markets within stringent requirements to exceed consumer expectations, cost & value equation and regulatory requirements.
• Support development of formula & prototyping in close coordination with GDC and ensure deployment OTIF for exclusive UI projects
• Support the regulatory assessment for HPC UI portfolio through PSOs and UI RA globally.
• Develop savings ideas in close working with categories and implement these within agreed R&D framework
• Leverage category KBS toolkit for adaptation and get winning claims in UI portfolio
• One of the primary contact persons for Skincare/Hair product development for UI business
• Develop and maintain close connection with GDC and RDCs for HPC

Key deliverables for Exclusive UI HPC projects –

• Deliver the plan in scope in full on time
• Responsible for specification of formulation, process and regimes to support / enforce these specs / agreed technical action standards.
• Drive rigor, risk assessment & mitigation, safety during projects delivery.
• Responsible for project execution in line with the best practices; Manage expectations of key stakeholders by providing regular feedback on project progress.
• Manage and develop the team who will lead the Product development work stream as a leader . Work on all HPC projects being rolled out in UI – HPC space globally
