Qualification: B.E. / B. Tech. – Chemical (Full time) with 2-4 Years of Experience
Knowledge of
- Strong basics of chemical engineering.
- Scale up studies, Pilot Trials
- Attention to details & excellent presentation skills
- Basic understanding of different safety tests like MIT, MIE, Explosivity etc. and designing safety interlocks based on the results of tests.
Skills Required:
- Basic computer skills e.g., MS-Excel, MS-word
- Ability to work in team
- Ability to lead team cross functional team
Job Responsibilities:
Technology Transfer
- Demonstration of lab scale trial for engineering data generation.
- Generation of mass and energy balance for lab scale experiment.
- PFD development for bench scale experiment.
- Engineering data generation related critical unit operation e.g., Distillation, Filtration, Extraction.
- Conducting kilo-lab/pilot trials of new synthesis.
- Validating process engineering data during kilo-lab/pilot trials.
- Working out process calculations and modifications of existing plants to map new products in existing plants.
- Scaling up process to commercial plants based on data collected in pilot trials.
- Commissioning and establishing products in commercial plants. Developing standard operating procedures, batch sheets etc. on basis of established parameters.
- Conducting PHA, HAZOP etc for safety assessment
Supporting Role during New Projects
- Supporting project team for equipment selection and sizing.
- Supporting project team for P&ID, PFD generation, BEP preparation, utility sizing, plant layout preparation etc.
- Supporting project team in commissioning of new plants.
- Review of engineering/technical document prepared by project/consultant team.
- Support to commercial scale during pre-commissioning & commissioning activity.
Purpose of the Role:
This position is meant to serve the purpose of being the front line of the Process Engineering activities to ensure that Process Engineering and design work is done with rigor and made error free.
