Project Synopsis: The aim of the project is to develop high-performance 3D-printed catalyst electrodes for the various electrochemical energy applications. The “Electrochemical Energy Research Laboratory” lead by Dr. Santosh Kumar Singh at the Department of Chemistry, School of Natural Sciences, Shiv Nadar University, is mainly focuses the research activities on the development of high-performance electroactive materials ranging from metal-free to metal supported catalysts. Fabrication of the electrochemical energy devices using lab-generated materials is another aspect of this research group. The

most important aspect of the research in this laboratory will be to develop insightful mechanistic understanding of the
electrochemical processes.

Nature of work: Development of high-performance electrocatalysts using various solvo-thermal techniques and fabrication of 3D printed electrodes which can be directly implemented in the electrochemical energy devices.

Essential and Desirable Qualifications: The candidate should have a master’s degree (with a minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent grade point average) in Chemistry with good synthetic skills of materials synthesis from a UGC recognized University.

1) The candidate should have ability of planning and execution of the assigned Project within a defined time and should provide technical directions.

2) Candidate should have

  • Good understanding of the chemistry principles.
  •  Laboratory experience of materials synthesis and its physical characterization.
  •  Basic understanding of electrochemical energy devices (Fuel cell, water electrolysers, batteries, etc.).

3) Candidate is preferable to have

  • Hands-on experience of electrochemical work-station (Potentiostat, battery
    cycler).
  •  Hands-on experience of electrocatalytic evaluation of materials.

Duration of the Project: 2 Years. Candidate will be hired for a 6-months and can be extended further based on satisfactory performance.

Fellowship: As per DST norms, JRF/ fellowship is ₹31,000 p.m. plus HRA as permissible.
