Eligbility Criteria:
• Education: Ph.D. in polymer technology (at least 2-3 years of industrial experience is must), PhD/ M.Tech./MSc with minimum 2+ years of industrial experience in elastomer processing industry, preferably from leading rubber & tyre companies
Subject Specialty: Polymer chemistry, Rubber Technology, elastomer science
Essential Attributes:
• Hands-on knowledge on polymer/ elastomer compound recipes, design of rubber &
other polymer processing & characterization.
• Carry out elastomer compounding activities and related product characterization at a 3P
facility, compile results/ data. Discuss about how to proceed with next experiment/
stage of project
• Proficient in understanding key polymer/elastomer properties, Process ability, Process
safety & curing, Stress – Strain properties, Payne effect & Dynamic properties, Tear,
Fatigue & Wear Characteristics, Thermal and Electrical properties of compounded
polymer etc.
JOB PURPOSE, ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• This role requires a candidate having background in elastomer science / rubber technology who can independently evaluate rubber compound formulations after incorporation of reinforcing filler materials such as silica, carbon fibers and other inorganic / organic fillers into rubber matrix. Study the performance data that is essential in proving the effectiveness of reinforcing filler in a elastomer matrix.
• The role requires prior experience in handling polymer /elastomer materials by utilizing functional filler technologies. He or she should have a good understanding of elastomer science and engineering principles and their applications.
• Must have developed knowledge on polymer additives, process aids, vulcanising systems, antioxidants, accelerators, curing agent & other special additives used during rubber compounding process
• Knowledge on basic polymer & elastomer science – monomers, polymers and its characteristic features, functionality, degree of polymerization, molecular weight & molecular weight distribution, melting temperature, glass transition temperature, crystallinity, cis-trans configuration, thermoplastic and thermosets etc
