Job Description:
Assisting the Pharmacist
- Type prescriptions within the standards of state pharmacy boards and federal laws
- Return medications and products to correct place on shelves
- Cleaning and maintaining the pharmacy (shelves, counter tops, floor, windows, etc.)
- Operate the cash register
- Interact with customers in a friendly and warm manner
- Perform new patient intake and collection of required information
- Organizing product on shelf both behind and over the counter
- Placing orders for On-the- counter items
- Answering the phones, and forward the call to -the pharmacist, technician, or manager, when necessary
- Listening to voicemails and following up
- Filing of billing and clinical information
Maintaining Inventory
- Maintains the inventory of patient supplies, documents supply needs, and places orders for drugs/medical products
- Assist with maintenance of patient files, sort and file physician orders and all clinical documentation
- Answer and route telephone calls, arrange shipment dates, and assists with new referral coordination as needed
- Assist with preparation of pharmaceuticals for future compounding and packaging and shipping pharmaceuticals to patients
- Participate in on-call rotation per work-flow and business needs
Job interactions
Coordinates with Pharmacist to assist in restocking of drugs and medicines on pharmacy shelves and also assist in the shipping, invoicing and delivery of medications and supplies to medical facility departments, interdepartmental pharmacies or to patients
Liaise with external partners for customer service and telecommunication, shipping and handling of medications and supplies, delivery arrangements etc.
