About Vigyan Pratibha Project

Vigyan Pratibha (https://vigyanpratibha.in/) is an extended project targeted toward school students of classes 8-10 to nurture their aptitude in science and mathematics. The project involves extensive working with and bridging the world of school teachers on one hand and scientists on the other. A core part of the project is the development and standardization of educational material through literature study, school visits, and laboratory experimentation.

PROJECT SCIENTIFIC ASSISTANT- B (CHEMISTRY OLYMPIAD CELL) – Unreserved
(UR) – 1 Post

Essential Qualification & Experience:

1. Full-time Bachelor of Science in Chemistry/ Applied Chemistry from a recognized University/Institute with an aggregate of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.

2. 0- 1 year post qualification experience in Chemistry laboratories in educational institutions or R & D laboratories or in chemical industries or teaching in schools/colleges.

Desirable qualifications & experience:

1. Masters of Science in any stream of

Chemistry from a recognized University/Institute with an aggregate of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA as well as in Graduation.

2. Good computer knowledge in the areas of MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Corel Draw or equivalent and familiarity with chemical structure making software like ChemDraw/ BIOVIA Draw or equivalent.

3. Experience with designing scientific materials for web and print media.

4. Good writing skills in English and/or an Indian language such as Marathi, Hindi, etc.

Job Description:

1. To develop instructional materials related to chemistry like posters, leaflets, experimental write-ups, articles, etc. for both print and web media.

2. Generating video resources in experimental and theoretical areas of chemistry.

3. Development and standardization of experiments in chemistry for higher secondary and undergraduate levels.

4. Review of the literature (that is, browsing and reading scientific journals) for designing experiments and projects for undergraduate chemistry.

5. Providing organizational help for various programs conducted by chemistry cells for students and chemistry teachers.

6. Any other work assigned by the supervisor.

Job Description:

1. To handle all the work related to the electrical department.

2. Any other work assigned by the supervisor.

Applicants with over qualifications will not be considered for the Sr. no. 3 (a), (b), (d) and 5.

General Conditions:

1. In case Universities/Board award letter grades/CGPA/OGPA, the same will have to be indicated as an equivalent percentage of marks as per the norms adopted by the University/Board. In the absence of the same, the candidature will not be considered (while submitting original documents for verification, the candidates will have to produce the norms of the University/Board for conversion of grades/CGPA/OGPA to equivalent percentage of marks.

2. Post/s for General Category (Unreserved) – SC/OBC/EWS candidates can also apply, candidates applying for EWS reserved posts should not be covered under the scheme of reservation for SC’s, ST’s and OBC’s.

3. Candidates applying for the above posts and who are eligible for further age relaxation as per extant GOI rules are required to produce the relevant certificates in support of age relaxation (for example ex-servicemen, persons with benchmark disabilities, etc.) at the time of verification of original documents/Interview.

4. SC, ST and OBC candidates applying for unreserved posts are not eligible for age relaxation.

5. SC/OBC/EWS certificate (wherever applicable) in the Government of India format.

6. OBC Candidates should produce a valid copy of the Non-Creamy Layer Certificate issued by the competent authority in the Govt. of India format. The OBC Non-Creamy Layer certificate in GOI format should be preferably for the current financial year on the date of the closing date of the recruitment process or utmost not earlier than one year from the date of the closing date of the recruitment process.

7. Outstation candidates called for recruitment process for the SC category posts will be paid a single second class (non-air conditioned) return train fare for the journey by the shortest route from the nearest railway station of their place of residence on the production of photocopies of onward and return journey tickets.

8. All the above posts are temporary for one year and can be extended up to one or two more years based on the requirement and performance of the candidate.

9. Project staff will not be entitled for Institute provided accommodation.
