Applications are invited from qualified candidates (Indian nationals) who meet the necessary educational and work requirements for the engagement of Project Staff to work in various projects at CSIR-NAL. The engagement of Project Staff is purely on a temporary and contract basis under the CSIR/Externally funded /Other projects undertaken by CSIR-NAL. The engagement shall be for short period and co-terminus with the project.

Elibgility: Ph.D. in Chemistry or Physics or Materials Science or Chemical
Engineering with at least one research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.
Job Requirement: Development and demonstration of reversible SOFC.
Age: 35 years
STIPEND/Emoluments:
Project Assistant
: ₹20,000/- + HRAProject Associate-I
(A) ₹31,000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.
(B) ₹25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (A) above
Project Associate-II
(i) ₹35,000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through a process as mentioned in (A) above.
(ii) ₹28,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (A) above
Research Associate-I: ₹47,000/- + HRA
Terms & Conditions:
a. The candidates should not have exceeded the Maximum age limit as on last date of the ONLINE application/registration.
b. The engagement will be purely on a temporary and contractual basis under the CSIR/Externally funded / other projects undertaken by CSIR-NAL which may be extended or curtailed depending the status/duration of the project, satisfactory performance/conduct, and shall be co-terminus with the project duration or till the funds are available, whichever is earlier.
c. The engagement under any CSIR/Externally funded/sponsored project does not confer any right/claim whatsoever either explicitly or implicitly on the appointee for regular appointments in CSIR-NAL, against any post or otherwise under any legal conditions precedent. It would, therefore, not confer any right/claim, implicit or explicit, on the part of the candidates for regularization/absorption against any post in CSIR-NAL or under any other schemes of CSIR.
d. Performance of the selected candidates will be reviewed every six months. In case the performance is not satisfactory, the engagement could be terminated with one month’s notice or one month’s stipend in lieu thereof.
e. No TA/DA will be given to the candidates for attending the interview.
f. The candidates may clearly mention the category they belong to i.e., SC/ST/OBC/PH and attach documentary proof of the same.
g. If already the candidate is working in CSIR-NAL or any other CSIR labs, a “No objection certificate” from the Project Leader is mandatory at the time of the interview.
h. The prescribed essential qualifications are the minimum and should be in the areas mentioned above. Mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for an interview. CSIR-NAL will adopt its own criteria for shortlisting candidates. The candidate should, therefore, mention in the application all the qualifications and experience in the relevant area over and above the minimum prescribed qualification, supported with documents and ensure that all details are complete and
accurate.
i. House Rent Allowance (HRA) payable as per CSIR/project norms.
j. The selection would be based upon the performance in the interview or any other criteria adopted by the selection committee(s). A panel of suitable candidates would be generated after the selection process and the validity of this panel would be for a maximum period of one year. Empanelment does not provide an automatic guarantee of engagement. The utilization of panels depends on the number of positions available in various projects during the period and any interim inquiry will not be entertained.
k. Candidates who have completed their degree with requisite educational qualifications only need to apply. However, candidates appearing/appearing for the qualifying examination whose results are awaited need not apply.
l. The decision of the Director, CSIR-NAL regarding selection will be final and binding.
m. Maximum duration in one project or in different projects taken together in CSIR-NAL or other CSIR labs
shall not be more than five years in any case.
n. Notifications regarding the interview and a list of shortlisted candidates shall be displayed in CSIR-NAL’s website: https://www.nal.res.in from time to time.
o. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
p. The Director, CSIR-NAL reserves the right to increase/decrease the number of positions and also cancel the recruitment process for the positions mentioned above at any stage of the recruitment process. The decision of the Director, CSIR-NAL will be final and binding on all candidates at any stage for engagement of Project Staff.
ONLINE registration:
1. Only candidates who fulfill the above eligibility criteria may fill in the ONLINE application available through our website: https://www.nal.res.in. No other mode of application will be considered.
2. The candidate should have a valid personal e-mail ID and mobile number which should be kept active till the completion of this Recruitment Process. In case a candidate does not have a valid personal e-mail ID, he/she should create his/her new e-mail ID and mobile number before applying ONLINE and must maintain the same e-mail account and mobile number.
3. Candidates are advised to go through the instructions carefully before filling the ONLINE application.
4. ONLINE application will be available on the CSIR-NAL website https://www.nal.res.in which opens on 09.04.2022 (09.30 a.m. onwards) and closes on 30.04.2022 (till 5.00 p.m.). Candidates should take a print out of the successfully submitted ONLINE application form for future reference. Print-out of the ONLINE application will not be available after 05.00 pm on the last date of ONLINE registration i.e., 30.04.2022.
5. Candidates are required to upload his/her recent passport size scanned photographs (max size 50KB).
6. In case of Universities / Institutes awarding CGPA/SGPA/OCPA grades etc., candidates are required to
convert the same into percentage based on the formula as per their university / Institute.
7. Candidates should keep a copy of the application print-out for their record.
8. Candidates are informed to register only once for each post. Multiple registrations for different posts will not be accepted. IN CASE A CANDIDATE SUBMITS MULTIPLE ONLINE
