Eligibility Criteria & Skills:

B.S/M.S./M.Tech/Ph.D. in Chemistry, or any Engineering field Work experience as a Semiconductor process engineer/analyst improving efficiency and quality, process transfer from development to production, applying analytical techniques for troubleshooting is added advantage Proficiency in applying statistical techniques

  • Must be a keen learner and demonstrate strong motivation and creative thinning Good to have prior experience in data analysis using descriptive statistical analysis techniques such as Univariate/ Multivariate analysis to describe and summarize data
  • Must have organized and disciplined work cultures – such as accurately submitting weekly hours, timely status reporting, adhering to programming standards Must being able to show a high level of accountability and cooperation. Ability to work as a team. Must have good presentation skills

Job Summary:

Science/Eng background

having 0-3 years of experience in performing descriptive statistics, using commercial tools, cleansing, and analyzing large volumes of data. Unix knowledge and/or semiconductor background is an added advantage.

Job Expectations

  • The Data Scientist job expectations typically (90%-95% of the work) include performing descriptive statistical analysis, data visualization, root case analysis, and support troubleshooting service offerings in semiconductor manufacturing using proprietary analytical platforms, commercial tools, and custom scripts. The candidate will be responsible for cleansing and analyzing data to improve the yield and device performance of advanced logic/memory integrated circuits.
  • It may include (5%-10%) of the work) applying statistical and programming skills for solving customer high-value problems through research and development.
  • People within this role should be willing to learn and adopt the semiconductor industry as their career domain. They should crossover and learn different subject areas such as Electronics, Physics, Chemistry, and Engineering, while also interested to handle a large volume of data, performing statistical analysis, storytelling and presenting the big picture.

Specific Duties Include

Acquire, cleanse, organize and mine massive volumes of data (sensor/system log) using custom scripts Learn and successfully apply statistical analysis processes required to support service offerings. Learn commercial tools such as JMP, use custom scripts, proprietary analytics platforms as required for the work Analyze and visualize customer data using JMP, perform data anomaly detection and correction, and apply customer data in statistical analysis as necessary Communicate verbally and create observation reports explaining the relationships in the data and the significance and work closely with other Applied Materials employees to understand which of these relationships may be anomalous or valid Prepare necessary presentation materials for project status review meetings, interact with project stakeholders, and run regular cadence meetings and work in alignment with team and organization goals. Document and update methods, processes and create use cases Actively participate in knowledge sharing sessions
