Qualifications

• Ph.D. or MS in Analytical Chemistry
• 5-10 years industrial experience in analytical chemistry
• ≥ 5 years hands-on experience with GC, LC, and IC chromatographic
• Project planning and leadership experience
• Experience with the analysis of hydrocarbons and other organics
• Able to interpret, organize and prepare concise written reports with analytical data from various techniques
• Act as a technical resource for analyzing and characterizing organic materials and hydrocarbons to aid in the support of Honeywell UOP and AM technologies.
• Familiar with the design of experiments and statistical quality control.
• · 5 – 10 years of application/method development experience in chromatography techniques
• Proficient in the application, maintenance, and theory of GC, LC, IC, simulated distillation instrumentation.
• Experience using Chemserver, Chemlaunch, Chemstation, or TotalChrom software.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills/presentation skills and listening skills
• Self-motivated and capable of interfacing effectively with R&D staff.
• Knowledge of refinery and petrochemical processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

•  Lead activities for Gas, Liquid, and Combustion Ion Chromatography as well as for Simulated Distillation, GC- Mass Spectroscopy and headspace analysis
• Develop, evaluate, revise and apply new analytical solutions to areas as required.
• Provide the primary technical support for the area and work with area experts globally to resolve measurement issues.
• Maintain and manage the technical knowledge base for area measurements.
• Utilize Six-Sigma tools to identify customer needs and develop actions to address unmet needs.
• Provide technical leadership for the chromatography area to engineers, scientists, and Pilot Plant staff.
• Coordinate the workflow for projects, including resource planning, scheduling, and prioritizing
• Work with manager/team leader to identify and resolve resource issues
• Manage customer QA and new product development projects
