yle="text-align: center;">IITR B Pharma Junior Research Fellowship Award Announced 2021

CSIR-Indian Institute of Toxicology Research, (IITR) Lucknow, a constituent laboratory
of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research, was established in 1965. This multidisciplinary research institute with the motto ‘Safety to Environment and Health and Service to Industry’ addresses problems critical to human health and the environment. CSIR-IITR undertakes research in niche areas of toxicology. These include the impact of industrial and
environmental chemicals on human health and ecosystem, and environmental monitoring of pollutants in the air, water, and soil.

To promote academic excellence in CSIR labs and to generate high-level science, the
CSIR GATE fellowship scheme is aimed at GATE qualified engineering graduates and GPAT
qualified pharmaceutical graduates to pursue research through a suitable Ph.D. program in AcSIR or in any other Institutions of CSIR. These fellowships are tenable only at CSIR
laboratories and JRFs selected under this scheme will have excellent opportunities to work with CSIR Scientists with state-of-art R&D.

Interview will be conducted to shortlist candidates for the award of Junior Research
Fellowship under CSIR’s Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) GATE/GPAT scheme for Indian
nationals to work at CSIR- IITR and obtain a Ph.D. degree from AcSIR.

Eligibility Criteria: Candidates with a B.Pharm degree and having qualified GPAT
Or All those eligible for direct CSIRSRF-Direct are not eligible to apply for JRF GATE/GPAT.

Job Description

For Position Code ‘A’ Exploring the mechanistic insights of fine (PM2.5) and ultrafine (PM0.1) ambient air particulate matter induced respiratory toxicity in
mice model

For Position Code ‘B’ Candidates have knowledge in the field of metabolism and pharmacokinetics.

Age limit: The upper age limit for JRF shall be 28 years which is relaxable up to 5 years in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes, Women, Physically handicapped and03 years in case of OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)candidates.

Stipend and tenure: The fellowship is to be given to a candidate for a total duration of five years within which the candidate is required to complete the Ph.D. degree. The fellowship amount is Rs.31,000/- plus HRA per month for the first two years. In addition, a contingency grant of Rs. 20,000/- per annum (calculated on pro rata basis for fraction of a year) is available under the fellowship as per the guidelines.

Further on completion of two years as JRF-GATE/GPAT, the fellowship may be upgraded to
SRF-GATE/GPAT and stipend will be increased to Rs. 35,000/- per month in the subsequent
years on the basis of assessment as per CSIR-GATE/GPAT guidelines. All other conditions of
JRF GATE/GPAT/NET will apply.

The CSIR Fellowship/Associateships are tenable in India, only bonafide Indian citizens, residing in India are eligible for the award of research fellowship/associateship.

Eligible candidates are required to report for the Interview at 9:00 a.m. Candidates reporting after 10:00 a.m. will not be entertained. The eligible candidates may appear before the Selection Committee for an interview on the date and time mentioned above at CSIR-Indian Institute of Toxicology Research, Vishvigyan Bhawan, 31, Mahatma Gandhi Marg, Lucknow-226001. Eligible candidates must bring with them a duly filled application which can be downloaded from our website www.iitrindia.org, with original & self-attested copies of mark sheets/certificates, etc. along with a recent passport size photograph.
