CUJ PhD Programme Admission-2021 – Applications Invited

CUJ PhD Programme Admission Applications are invited from interested and eligible candidates for the Admission in Ph.D. Program in Nanoscience and Technology, Energy Engineering, Water Engineering and Management, Transport Science and Technology, Computer Science and Technology, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Life Science, Environmental Sciences, Geoinformatics, Commerce, Management, English, Hindi, Tribal studies, Tribal and Customary Law, Mass Communication, Performing Arts (Music), Education, Tibetan Language and Culture, for the academic session 2021-22.

Eligibility Criteria: 

Master’s Degree in Chemistry Minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate for General Category and 50% or equivalent grade in aggregate for SC/ST/OBC (noncreamy layer)/ PWD.

Candidates having valid UGC/CSIR/- NET/JRF, ICMR-JRF, GATE, etc. certificates may apply online. The details of the application process and eligibility
criteria are available on the CUJ website.

How to Apply

(i). Applications may be filled and submitted ONLINE through the link: https://cujadm21.samarth.edu.in/

(ii). Candidates are required to upload a recent passport size photograph, scanned signature and scanned copies of the supporting documents (Annexure-I).

(iii). After successful submission of online application, a print-out of the same along with
supporting documents should be retained to be brought along at the time of the interview.

Mode of Direct Admission:

A candidate who fulfills one of the following requirements, as applicable for relevant
disciplines, may be considered for direct admission to the Ph.D. Program without
appearing in the entrance test

(i). A candidate who is qualified in a national level test such as National Eligibility Test
such as UGC/CSIR-NET-JRF (with fellowship), NET-LS (without fellowship), ICMRJRF, DBT BET, Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE), State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) accredited by UGC/ Central Government or State ; Central University of Jharkhand
Government. Candidate must have valid UGC/CSIR -NET, ICMR-JRF, DBT-BET, GATE, SLET
certificate and must have some financial assistance such as UGC/CSIR/ICMR/DBT JRF/AICTE/ financial assistance from Govt. agencies {Like Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship (RGNF), Maulana Azad National Fellowship (MANF), etc.

(ii). A candidate who is a recipient of National Doctoral Fellowship or other
fellowships from Government /semi-government organizations (through AllIndia selection procedure conducted by the agencies/organization for award of research fellowships) such as Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission (UGC), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Department of Science and Technology (DST), Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Department of Atomic Energy (DAE). Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Indian Council of
Agricultural Research (ICAR), Indian Council of Medical Research, and similar National Level Organizations.

(iii). A candidate who is selected under the Quality Improvement Programme (QIP) of
AICTE for Faculty Development Programme of a State Government/UGC.

(iv). A foreign national who is a recipient of a fellowship by the Indian Council for Cultural
Relations (ICCR), Government of India and who is sponsored by his/her
government.

(v). A self-financing foreign national who is admitted through the Embassy/High
commission of his/her country or admitted under an MoU with due clearance from
the Indian Missions abroad. As per revised guidelines/instructions of the
Department of Higher Education, MHRD, GOI on grant of research visa, the foreigners who desire to undertake research in India, should, therefore, apply to the concerned Indian Missions abroad with the brief synopsis of the research project to be undertaken in India, the details of places to be visited, previous visits, whether the scholar has secured admission into a recognized or reputed institution and evidence of financial resources.

(vi). A candidate, working on an externally funded research project at the University
as research personnel, may be allowed to register for Ph. D. in the University.
Provided further that in such cases, the consents of the PI and the supervisor (in
case PI is not the supervisor) that the research work of the Project and that of the
Ph. D. will not hamper the interest of either.
