JNCASR PhD Admission 2021 Announced – Applications Invited
JNCASR PhD Admission 2021 Applicants possessing the Educational qualifications including those in the final semester/year of their qualifying examinations but expect to complete all the requirements for the award of the degree (like examinations, project dissertations, viva-voce, etc.,) by 31.07.2021 and can furnish necessary certificates on or before 31 October 2021 are eligible to apply.
Guidelines for Candidates:
Applications are invited from eligible applicants for admissions to the following programs:
(1) Research Programmes [(Ph.D. / MS(Engg.) / MS(Research)]
(2) Master of Science (M.Sc) in Chemistry (Two-year program)
(3) Integrated Ph.D. Programs
The gist of the admission operations is given in the following paragraphs. Applicants possessing the Educational qualifications including those in the final semester/year of their qualifying examinations but expect to complete all the requirements for the award of the degree (like examinations, project dissertations, viva-voce, etc.,) by 31.07.2021 and can furnish necessary certificates on or before 31 October 2021 are eligible to apply.
RESEARCH PROGRAMMES [Ph.D. / M.S(Engg.) / M.S(Research)]
1.1 Eligibility
Candidates with an M Sc. or equivalent, B.E/B.Tech or equivalent or M.E/M. Tech or equivalent or B.VSc/M.Vic or MBBS/MD as applicable to individual Units as given in the table
below are eligible to apply. They should have at least 50% in their highest University examination and should also have qualified in any one of the National exams: GATE/JEST/GPAT/UGC /CSIR – NET-JRF/ICMR-JRF/DBT-JRF/INSPIRE-JRF. The award certificate of such a test should have the validity period for seeking admission to the research program as on 2nd August 2021. ME/ M.Tech or equivalent degree holders are required to qualify in one of the national exams mentioned above, however exceptional candidates without these exams may also be considered.Department: Chemistry and Physics of Materials Unit
1. Master’s Degree in Science or equivalent in Chemical Sciences.
2. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent in Chemical. Valid GATE /JEST score / CSIR-UGC NET for JRF/UGC-NET for JRF/DBT- JRF/ICMRJRF / INSPIRE
New Chemistry Unit
Eligibility:
1. Master’s Degree in Science or equivalent in Chemistry, Chemical/ Physical
/Biological/Material Sciences
2. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent in Chemical Engineering,
With Valid GATE /JEST/GPAT score / CSIR-UGC NET for JRF/UGC-NET for JRF/DBT- JRF/ICMRJRF / INSPIRE
3.Master’s Degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent in Chemical Engineering,
4. Master’s Degree in Pharmacy Qualifying in the national exam is desirable
Selection procedure
Candidates are short-listed for an interview based on their performance in the national
entrance test and /or qualifying degree. The selection is based on the performance in the
interview (in some units, an aptitude test/preliminary interview will precede the final
interview)
Note: Keeping in view the pandemic situation, the selection procedure may be shifted online if necessary
MASTER OF SCIENCE (M.Sc) IN CHEMISTRY (TWO YEAR PROGRAMME)
2.1 Eligibility
a) Applicants possessing a minimum of 55% marks at the Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science with Chemistry as a major subject.
b) Candidates who have qualified the Joint Admissions Test for Masters (JAM) are encouraged to apply
2.2 Selection procedure:
Shortlisted candidates based on fulfilling the eligibility criteria will have to appear for a written test at JNCASR. Based on the performance in the written test, candidates will be called for an interview. Shortlisted JAM candidates may be exempted from the written test and will be called for an interview directly. The final selection is based on the performance in the interview.

INTEGRATED PH. D PROGRAMME
Chemical Science Eligibility Criteria:
• Students with a minimum of 55% marks a bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science with Chemistry as a major and mathematics as a subject at least up to PUC (10+2 level).
• Candidates who have qualified the JAM 2021 written test (for Master’s) are encouraged to apply
Selection procedure: Shortlisting will be through the Joint Admission Test for Master’s
(JAM) and /or JNCASR’s written test, followed by an interview for shortlisted candidates on
the same day or the following day. The final selection will be based on the performance in the interview.
Note: Keeping in view the pandemic situation, the selection procedure may be shifted online if necessary.
HOW TO APPLY
Applications for all the programs mentioned above are available online. (only online
applications are considered).
APPLICATION FEE
The application fee is Rs.500/- and is non-refundable. Any bank or payment gateway service charges must be borne by the applicant.
Options of online payment through net-banking, debit card/credit card, etc. is available.

- Last date for submission of applications online (website closes at 23:59 hours on 24.04.2020) 19.04.2021
Scholarships: All the regular students [except Master of Science (M.Sc) in Chemistry] joining JNCASR are eligible for a scholarship from JNCASR/ CSIR / UGC/ ICMR / DBT /INSPIRE depending upon their mode of entry.
