IIT Goa Research Fellow Recruitment 2020 – Applications Invited
Applications are invited for the position of Junior Research Fellow under the Project titled “Machine learning-based algorithm for predicting the three-dimensional fractal structure of aggregated nanoparticles from microscopy-based images and application in characterization of ultrafine particulate matter”, at the School of Mechanical Sciences, IIT Goa. The project is sponsored by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) in the framework of the Start-up Research Grant (Project No. 2020/EMR/TT/018).
Nature of work
The research fellow will be working on developing algorithms for predicting three-dimensional structures from microscopy-based images, for characterizing particulate matter. There will be an experimental component as well, for collecting particulate matter from various combustion sources.

For a period of 1 year. It may be further extended based on the performance of the candidate and availability of funding.
Eligibility
- M.E/M.Tech in Chemical Engineering, Environment Engineering and other allied
branch. - Exceptional candidates with B.E/B. Tech from the same branches may also be considered
- Candidate with B.E/B. Tech/M. Tech must have a valid GATE score
Desirable:
- Candidates with experience in scientific computing will be given preference.
- Experience on topics related to the particulate matter would be beneficial.\
Salary Rs. 31,000/- (as per norms) DA Not be entitled to DA. HRA 16% (as per the Govt. norms stationed at Goa)

Leave
entitlements Casual leave of 8 days per annum. If joined during the year will be entitled on pro-data basis.
