Applications are invited from highly motivated persons for one post of JRF for performing numerical and experimental work in the field of Membrane Science and separation process in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Kanpur. Check out all the details on the same below:

Job Title: JRF (One)

Project Title: Experimental and computational analysis of concentration polarization induced fouling in reverse osmosis (RO) feed channel

Minimum Qualification:

For JRF – The minimum qualifications are BE/B. Tech, with at least 55% marks and passing of GATE/NET test.

Desirable Qualification: Candidate with a degree in Chemical Engineering, background in desalination, membrane science and separation process and sound knowledge of numerical modelling of the same using CFD will be preferred.

Nature of Work: The candidate would be responsible for performing experiments for membrane and separation processes, developing models for concentration polarization induced fouling in reverse osmosis (RO) feed channel, performing numerical simulations using Fluent CFD software, analysis of experimental and numerical results, writing of research papers in journal/conference, and assisting the PI in other research activities. The candidate would be working in collaboration with a CSIR scientist.

Age limit: Maximum 28 years for JRF

(upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC/Women and physically handicapped candidates).

Salary: INR 31,000/- pm

The post is purely temporary. The duration is one year and likely to be extended depending on the performance. If short-listed, copies of relevant certificates will be required, and will be checked against the original certificates at the time of interview. The interview will be conducted online using Zoom/ Skype, only short-listed applicants will be informed via email about the date of the interview (tentatively in 3rd – 4th week of November 2020). Applicants who do not meet the qualification criteria will not be called for the interview.
