Job Description for Clariant Chemistry Research Associate :
Performs encapsulation synthesis, formulation, characterization and testing on assigned projects in R&D laboratories under limited supervision. Support to Scientist in encapsulation subject knowhow generation. Able to conduct lab work and assigned tasks on multiple projects with limited supervision.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in physical chemistry, polymer chemistry, colloidal science
- 3- 6 years general Laboratory experience in Encapsulation related R&D preferably worked in a Chemical company
- Has precise basic skills/knowledge and able to apply with minimum supervision & coaching (weekly)
- Good computer skills (Microsoft Office and Outlook); good math skills; ability to work with minimal supervision and at times alone
Responsibilities
Innovation & Learning
- Be curious, open & eager to learn
- Understand technical reports & record observations
- Propose ideas for improvement based on observations
- Technical project report writing
- Develop technology solution to deliver cost-effective products as per regional business requirement
Analytical Capability
- Timely submission of samples for analysis and record the data in a required format
- Knowledgeable with various analytical techniques & should be able to independently interpret the data from the instruments
Technical Know-how
- Demonstrate strong theoretical know-how in Chemistry, colloids and interface science
Hands-on experience in running experiments - Build subject matter knowledge in the assigned core area
- Development & execution of a given task with good productivity & quality
Safety & Quality Management
- Ensure systems in place according to legal and ESHA requirements and Clariant guidelines
- Chemical storage in compliance with compatibility requirements
- Maintenance and proper disposal of expired chemicals
- Follow best practices and compliance with Global System Management (GSM)
- Prepare and Maintain Risk Assessment Data Sheets for lab equipment
