Job Title: Research Engineer – Competency
Education & Experience :
M.Tech (2 to 5 years)
• Strong analytical chemistry/minerology/ceramics background and established research experience
• Expereince in inorganic materials characterization methods.
• Hands on experience in characterization of different minerals.
• Ability to build experimental capabilities and sample preparation methods
• Knowledge in materials characterization using SEM, optical microscopy, XRF, XRD, Raman, thermal analysis & other spectroscopic techniques.
• Experience in operating different analytical instruments and analysing the results
• Experience in various sample preparation techniques for characterization.
• Should have good communication skills and ability to write technical reports.
Skill & Knowledge :
- Dynamic result-focused, team spirit, customer-facing skills
- Methodical and organized with reasonable experience in characterization of inorganic materials.
- Good hands-on experience and technical knowledge in minerals characterization methods.
- Knowledge in mines & minerals processing techniques.
- Expertise in evaluation methods for minerals – Characterization through optical microscopy, Raman, XRD, spectroscopy and other relevant techniques
Specific Accountabilities are as follows:
• Contribute to raw materials characterization work for different BUs.
• Document results and present to R&D/Business teams.
• Contribute to projects related to upgrade and setting up new experimental capabilities in raw materials, defects competency & Minerology competency.
• Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of pertinent research equipment. Provide operational metrics and strive for continuous improvement to meet customer demands.
• Provide technical recommendations in building experimental prototypes and testing.
• Work well with team and be inclusive.
• Contributing to transversal activities across different competency
