Job Title: Lab Tech

The candidate shall be able to –
- Optimize and deliver solutions by understanding Baroid product portfolio, while complying with standard HSE laboratory safe practices and Chemical Hygiene Plan
- Actively work towards the development of best safety practices while designing solutions
- Identify and apply appropriate test methods as per requirements, and may assist in recommending design modifications for non-standardized work methods
- Extract meaningful conclusions from test data and create quality reports
- Ensure timeliness and deliverables are met
- Develop a relationship with internal customers to understand their requirements and deliver technically viable solutions
- Involvement in calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting of instruments, as well as maintaining and managing chemical inventory
- Ability to work independently after initial guidance
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Most importantly, should be a “team player”

- Mentors others on the chemical hygiene plan and the current HSE laboratory safety standards.
- Active in the development of best safety practices in activities related to product design, development, manufacture, and use.
- Independently manages time and lab testing to insure timeliness and deliverables are met with guidance from the project team leader.
- Assembles complex subsystems or prototype equipment and performs or arranges for necessary tests/experiments as required. Responsibilities may include building and/or modifying non-routine prototypes, models, and special equipment.
- May assist in recommending design or modifications of analytical processes, equipment, or procedures that are not completely standardized or prescribed.
- Performs complex environmental or laboratory tests using proficient techniques with electrical/electronic, chemical, or mechanical equipment that includes set-up, calibration, troubleshooting, monitoring, and data collection.
- Performs mathematical computations to solve design problems. Analyzes test data and writes reports. May train lower level technicians and/or field personnel. Maintains files and documentation related to test and laboratory equipment.
- May be required to hold specific certification related to job activities. May be required to travel offsite to assemble and operate equipment while assisting new product commercialization or in resolving equipment problems, often in the presence of customers.
- Job tasks, correct performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. Skills typically through eight (8) hours of college chemistry (preferred) and 8 years of related laboratory testing experience.
