Experience Requirement: Minimum 5-7 years in QA/QC discipline
Skills & Competencies :
- Statistical Skill required assessing the reliability of test results.
- Relevant knowledge of the test procedure and results reporting as per standard method requirement.
- Knowledge of Raw Material, in process samples & finished product specifications and analysis as per contractual & domestic specifications.
- Competency to operate specific equipment, perform test, calibrations and evaluate results.
- Knowledge of significance of test parameters including safety in laboratory.

Job Description for the position of ‘Chemist-Quality Assurance’ position – RCS
Job Accountabilities:
- Schedules, supervises and coordinates the activities of personnel, ensuring that work meets established quality standards, regulations and is delivered on-time.
- Ensure compliance of Integrated Management Systems (IMS) and Lab Quality Management Systems to ISO/IEC 17025 standard as per NABL requirements.
- Test methods/SOPs review and improvement for existing and new plant requirements.
- Must be well versed in the principles specimen preparation, test methods.
- Commissioning support for new labs quality systems establishment for new projects
- Ensure timely analysis of the samples and availability of results to the customer.
- Compliance to the technical requirements in the testing samples to sustain reliability.
- Ensure the adherence to the calibration and quality check schedule.
- Develop action plan for replacement of obsolete instrument and/or update technology in the assigned discipline in consultation with Head QA/QC.
- Develop protocols for Quality checks, repeat test, Retest, round robin evaluation of Laboratory performance and Root cause analysis.
- Ensure reliability and operational excellence with timely support to plants and other departments in both routine and emergency situations.
- Analytical support during plant troubleshooting.
- Ensure cost effective lab activities and optimized lab resources.
- LIMS and SAP QM activities – Co-ordination and Implementation for smooth functioning of the section.
- Coordinate site activities for successful implementation of projects.
- Liaise with LIMS administrator & SAP QM power user for system updation.
- Follow applicable HSEF procedures/ practices with awareness about environmental statutory regulations.
- Working with multiple interface such as business, customers, operations, E&M and HSEF
- Knowledge of PSM, Safety, F&G system, Waste management, Emergency Preparedness and response
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, 17025 & OHSAS 18001;Good Laboratory Practices and Good management Practices.
- Knowledge of SAP functions
Skills Required (Knowledge and Skills):
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- Safety and Quality audit participation for Laboratory.
- Timely execution of assigned tasks with effective sectional activities
- Analytical method development and standardization.
- Selection of new instruments and installation/commissioning after procurement
- Review of test results and decision on re-sampling or retesting
- Knowledge of computer with presentation skills.
- Knowledge of International standards and accreditation
