Job Title: Section Head – Medicinal Chemistry
Eligibility: Bsc Chemistry, MSc Chemistry
Job Description:
- The primary responsibility would be to provide strategic and scientific leadership to multiple drug discovery projects across different disease area which will be executed in Bangalore, India.
- Manage daily chemistry operations in India, including management of up to ~8 Group Leads in Medicinal Chemistry.
- Designing of new molecules based on SAR; optimization of early leads to candidate selection.
- Provide oversight of chemistry, including input into finding solutions for complex synthetic chemistry challenges.
- Provide project reports to the leadership team and core committee to evaluate the project progression.
- Manage the teams, appraise and evaluate the group performance.
- Verify and enhance data integrity, foster cross-functional collaboration.
- Responsible for recruitment, trainings, safety and other initiatives.
- Plan the work flow for various projects and provide new perspectives and intellectual inputs to the projects.
- Allocate projects to the team leaders and assign responsibilities.
- Participate in all brain-storming sessions with the team /group leaders and provide innovative ways to reduce the cost and time.
- Keep abreast of new / novel technologies related to chemistry / drug discovery
- Coordinate with various departments including Biology, CADD etc for smooth execution of projects.
- Ensure all the members in the department attend Training Programs as and when needed
