Requirements
- Technical expertise: at least 3 years or above with hands on experimental experience dealing with bitumen, asphalt or material science.
- Experience in project management, designing, leading and executing R&D projects to implementation and evidence of innovation. Experience of ISO 9001 or ISO 17025 system is a benefit.
- A doctorate or masters in civil engineering, chemistry, physics, material science or a related field is preferred along with necessary industrial experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with a global team to identify project needs, update on project progress and work with a global team to implement projects is key.
Job Description
The position is for an individual contributor in the Specialities R&D Centre of Excellence, supporting the bitumen, asphalt and sulphur research portfolios. The successful candidate
will be expected to:- Lead and action timely delivery of projects, translating the voice of customer/ project problem statement to executable project plans and report out findings with recommendations on future course of action.
- Conduct hands on experiments in the laboratory while developing skills in core areas of bitumen/ asphalt research in support of the Specialities R&D portfolio.
Work with deployment teams to scale up or implement technologies/ launch new products. - Identify and execute technical collaboration opportunities within Shell and externally, to support the Specialities strategy and growth ambitions.
- Drive improvement in the quality and safety culture of the team.
- Compile / edit draft technical reports/manuscripts for publication and IP.
