D. E. Shaw India Private Limited (DESIS) is looking for a quality assurance (QA) scientist to join the Life Sciences team based out of the firm’s office in Hyderabad, India. This team supports Schrödinger, a leading technology company that develops state-of-the-art chemical simulation software for use in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and materials science research.

Job Title: QA for Enterprise Applications (MT)

Eligibility: A master’s degree in chemistry, pharmaceuticals or life sciences with 0-2 years of experience in a profile having high exposure with computers and software

Skills:

• Strong analytical, logical and problem-solving skills as well as excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Exposure to high-end web browser usage and web surfing
• Significant attention to detail, be highly motivated and comfortable working under deadlines, and the ability to be both self-directed yet work well within a team

The following skills and experience are preferred (but not mandatory):

• Prior experience with Python and shell scripting
• Prior exposure to Schrodinger Software
• Knowledge and experience with the software development life cycle and Software Quality Assurance and Selenium or any other GUI testing tools
• Prior experience in software testing and automation with Selenium

Job Description:

• Design and implement testing strategies for web-based real-time enterprise informatics platform used in drug discovery and materials science research
• Perform regular iterations of interactive testing
• Validating the bug fixes and new enhancements
• Create and maintain automated tests, mimicking user interactions, using Selenium
• Owning testing of ‘New Feature’ and participate and contribute in its development discussions, bringing in scientific insights to improve the end user experience.
