Job Description:

Applications are invited for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a DST funded research project entitled “Exploring Ferroelectricity in Single-component Organic Molecular Crystals: Cases of Imidazoles” CRG/2018/004694, under the supervision of Dr. Parthapratim Munshi, Department of

Chemistry, School of Natural Sciences, Shiv Nadar University, Gautam Buddha Nagar, U.P. 201314.

Project Synopsis:

The aim of the project is to identify and study organic ferroelectric materials using experimental and computational techniques. The major objectives are:

  • Design, synthesis and characterization of novel single-component pure organic molecular ferroelectric materials consisting of enamine unit (-HN-C=N-).
  • Detailed structural analysis based in the presence and absence of electric field using X-ray and neutron diffraction data.
  • Measuring electrical properties for the evaluation of spontaneous and remnant polarizations.
  • Charge density analysis using high-resolution X-ray and neutron diffraction data for mapping proton transfer pathway; N-H…N hydrogen bonds, responsible for spontaneous polarization.
  • Theoretical estimation of molecular and in-crystal dielectric and spontaneous polarizations.
  • Device preparatin using these eco-friendly organic materials for fulfilling our societal need.

How To Apply:

Eligible and interested candidates should send their application with a complete CV (having personal details, academic qualifications, research experience, publications, name, affiliation and email address of two referees). Also, send photocopies of marksheets/testimonials/certificates, a recent passport size photograph, and other relevant documents as PDF attachment via email (preferable) or hard copies by Speed Post to the below address. All documents should reach the address on or before  15 April 2019
