Job Title: Lubricant Specialist

Work Location: Mumbai

Eligibility: Educated to Master degree level in Engineering/Chemistry discipline or equivalent level of experience

Experience:

  • Knowledge of mechanical procedures and mechanical machinery including engine builds/rebuilds would be advantageous.
  •  Knowledge of lubricant formulations, applications and tribology would be considered highly advantageous
  • Relevant professional accreditations from the lubricants or engineering industries are not required but would be advantageous, e.g.
  • Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE) CLS and or OMA certification
  • ISO18436-4 certified Level I or Level II Machinery Lubricant analyst.
  • ICL Machine Lube Analyst Level II certification

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provision of 1st level technical support and used oil analysis services to Maersk and external stakeholders.
  • Development and implementation of accurate and relevant Lubricant Recommendation Charts (LRCs) for stakeholder’s vessels and other Industrial Equipment according to agreed Technical and maintenance procedures.
  • Manage fleet-wide Used Oil Analysis service and provide support, troubleshooting and improvement initiatives
  • Liaise with Oil Companies, Additive Companies, and Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to develop new or tailored lubricant products and supporting solutions, including fundamental research.
  • Lead ad-hoc projects designed to identify unique cost savings and competitive advantages.
  • Ongoing management of stakeholder relationships with a strong emphasis on creating partnerships and co-operations that create competitive advantage by focusing on continual improvement, and/or innovative solutions.
  • Identify and nurture new sources of supply and step out technical or commercial solutions.
  • Share and adopt best practices with other APM group functions or businesses to improve performance.
