Job Title: Lubricants Technician

Work Location: Bengaluru, India

Eligibility: Master’s in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering

Experience: With a minimum of 3 years of work experience

Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of lubricant formulation, chemistry or testing will be required.
  • Bitumen testing and related experimental techniques will be a plus.
  • High accuracy measurements which also require good laboratory handling skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Independent thinking and/or problem solving. Ability to come up with an experimental plan for small sub-sections of a project, interpret data and come up with preliminary analysis of trends and recommendations.
  • Pro-active with respect to addressing technical challenges and technical skill development
  • Resilient towards project failure the new portfolio will have a higher risk of failure and staff member must have sufficient courage to manage this.
  • Ability and resilience to multi-task and adapt to changes in the experimental plan
  • Ability to conduct literature surveys, design experimental plans and then execute them under the guidance of project leaders. Preliminary data analysis and recommendations on next steps is also required.
  • To pro-actively develop oneself in technical skills areas.
  • Ability to plan experimental protocol to support project sub-sections, independent execution and preliminary interpretation of data and generation of recommendations.
  • Strict adherence to all HSSE rules, training and general housekeeping rules.

Job description

The position is for a Lubricant Technician to work in the Shell Global Commercial laboratory at Shell Technology Centre Bangalore (STCB), India. These projects demand that the candidate exhibits a versatility in skills and interests.

The mandatory requirements for this role are

  • Strict adherence to all HSSE rules, training and general housekeeping rules.
  • Strict adherence to all quality standards as defined by the standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • Ability to conduct literature surveys, design experimental plans and then execute them under the guidance of project leaders. Preliminary data analysis and recommendations on next steps is also required.
  • To pro-actively develop oneself in technical skills areas.
  • Ability to plan experimental protocol to support project sub-sections, independent execution and preliminary interpretation of data and generation of recommendations.
