Applications are invited from suitable candidates for one position of Junior Research Fellow in a DBT funded research project entitled “Structure determination and targeting of ubiquitously expressed membrane integrated form of chloride intracellular channels (CLICs) for discovery of small molecular anti-cancer therapeutics”in the Laboratory of Dr. Mahendran K R at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology , Thiruvananthapuram. Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology invites postgraduate Msc chemistry candidates for the post of Junior Research Fellow. Interested candidates may apply online.

Project Title: “Structure determination and targeting of ubiquitously expressed membrane integrated form of chloride intracellular channels (CLICs) for discovery of small molecular anti-cancer therapeutics”

Job Title: Junior Research Fellow

Eligibility: Candidate with a Master’s Degree in Chemistry/ Biochemistry are eligible to apply. Applicants should have a minimum of 70% marks in MSc.

Desirable Qualifications

  1. Qualification in National Eligibility test such as CSIR-UGC NET/GATE etc.
  2. Experience in working with membrane proteins, single-molecule biophysics techniques, synthetic cells, nanosciences, molecular biology, analytical chemistry, organic and inorganic chemistry.

Age: Below 28 years as on1st April, 2019 .

Emoluments: 25,000 + 20% HRA per month for M.Sc. Degree holders who have qualified at NET/GATE (with valid certificate). Candidates who do not have NET/GATE certification will be eligible for 12,000/- + 20% HRA per month.

Duration: The project will be active for 2 years, but the initial appointment will be given for 1 year and further extension will be based on the performance.

Selection Process

Suitably qualified candidates may send applications in the prescribed format with a photograph, a copy of full resume indicating the percentage of Marks obtained and attested photocopies of credentials & experience to reach the undersigned on or before 1st April, 2019. Envelopes must be superscripted with abbreviated title of the project, advertisement number and job title. Selection to the position will not entitle the candidate to any future positions at RGCB (permanent or otherwise). As with all project positions at RGCB, the position will be co-terminus with end of the project.
