Job Title: Scientist

Eligibility: Masters Degree in chemistry with at least 60% marks from recognized University / Institute
Salary: Pay Level: Level 10of pay matrix as per 7th CPC plus allowances as admissible to Central
government employees stationed at Pune.
Desirable:
- A minimum of 3 years experience of research in atmospheric and/or oceanic sciences related to
weather and climate (as evidenced by published papers) - Proven understanding of any of the research areas viz. understanding of the Asian monsoon and its variability, land surface processes and their impact on monsoon, climate variability and climate change, experience in dynamics and thermodynamics of convection and interaction between clouds and environment, Atmospheric measurements, Aerosols, Atmospheric Radar Technology, Air Quality and pollutants and experience in Numerical Weather Prediction models.
Age Limit:
- 35 years as on 11th February 2019.
- Age relaxations are applicable as per the Central Government rules (for 5 years for candidates
belonging to SC / ST category, 3 years for candidates belonging to OBC category. - Age relaxation for Physically Handicapped and Ex-Serviceman are applicable as per the Central
Government Rules. - There is no age limit for IITM and Government employees
Instructions:
- Only Indian Nationals are eligible and need to apply.
- The place of posting is at Pune with transfer liability to any part of India.
- Separate applications should be submitted for each post.\
- Mere possession of required qualification will not entitle the candidates to be called for
interview. - Candidates working in Government/Semi Government/Autonomous organization should apply
through proper channel. They may, however, send an advance copy of application along with the
enclosures which should reach on or before the prescribed last date. If application is not routed
through the proper channel the candidate must produce the requisite “No Objection Certificate”
from their employer at the time of interview. - The candidates should arrange two letters of reference to be sent directly to the undersigned.
- The envelope, containing a complete application, should be super-scribed as “Application for the
post of Scientist- B - Candidates called for interview will be paid train fare as per Government of India norms.
- Experience and Desirable qualifications can be relaxed at the discretion of the Director in case
of exceptionally good candidates. - Experience shall mean the experience in the relevant field acquired from a Government/Semi govt./Autonomous/Research Organization after obtaining the minimum educational qualification asked for in the said category.
Note: Facility of submitting online application will commence on 28.12.2018 by 3.00 p.m and
close on 11/02/2019 by 5.00 p.m.
