Name of the Post : Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Name of the Project : “Decoding protein deacetylation networks in the synaptic physiology of epileptic hippocampal neurons”
Principal Investigator : Dr. Bhupesh Mehta
Emoluments : Rs. 25,000/- + 30% HRA per month
Duration of the Post : 3 years.Initial appointment will be for a period of one year which will be extended depending upon performance of the candidate
Educational Qualification :
M.Sc OR M.Tech OR M.Phil degree in any field of science/life science/physics/biophysics/ chemistry with a good academic record, and NET/GATE/JGEEBILS/ ICMR qualification
OR
M.Sc OR M.Tech OR M.Phil degree in any field of science/life science/physics/biophysics/ chemistry with 2 years of experience in patch clamp electrophysiology (support document required with a strong recommendation from employer/mentor).
Additional Experience : Candidates with some experience of molecular biology are encouraged to apply.
Nature of Work : The project covers extensive electrophysiology (patch-clamp) in rodent hippocampal slices (acute), and in cultures
. Extensive gene transfection, plasmid preparation and designing are required. For reference about the laboratory work, candidates are encouraged to read – Mehta et.al. (2013) Neuron (PMID: 23395377), Mehta et.al. J. Neurosci. (2014) (PMID: 24790194), Mehta et.al. J. Gen. Physiology (2008) (PMID: 18725529).How to Apply:
