RA & Jr Research Biologist Posts for Chemistry Candidates @ SACON

The Sálim Ali Centre for Ornithology and Natural History (SACON) is a Centre of Excellence under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, in the field of Ornithology and Natural History. SACON wishes to engage research personnel under various categories for the following research projects

Position I

Job Title:   Research Associate

Duration: 3 years

No. of Posts:  1

Age Limit:  Maximum 35 years on the stipulated last date for receiving applications

Emoluments:    Rs. 36,000 per month plus HRA

Qualifications:  

• Essential Qualification: Ph.D in Chemistry/Biochemistry from a recognized University.
• Desirable Qualification:Experience in residue analysis using chromatography and spectroscopyinstrument.

Position II

Job Title:  Junior Research Biologist

Duration: 2 years

No. of Posts:  1

Age Limit:  Maximum 35 years on the stipulated last date for receiving applications

Emoluments:    Rs 25,000 per month plus HRA

Qualifications:  

• Essential Qualification: Minimum second class Masters’ Degree in Chemistry/Biochemistry from a
  recognized University

Job Description: The project aims to assess the population status of Sarus Crane in the state of Uttar Pradesh and examine the impacts of pesticide contamination on them.

General Terms and Conditions:  

1. Candidates applying for any of the above positions should possess the Essential Qualification as per the details given against the position. Candidates willing to apply for more than one advertised positions should send separate application form.
2. The upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Women and Physically Challenged category as per Central Government norms.
3. Selected candidate will be engaged initially for a period mentioned against the advertised position. Subsequently his/her tenure may be extended depending upon the exigencies of work at sole discretion of the Centre and satisfactory performance of the candidate.
4. Selected candidate may be allowed hostel accommodation at SACON as per availability. Other allowances and benefits to the research personnel would be admissible as per the rules.
5. The selection of the candidate(s) will be based on the interview to be held at SACON, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu during fourth week of November, 2017.
6. Canvassing in any form is liable to rejection of the candidature.
7. Duly filled-in applications should be accompanied with self attested true copies of testimonials of educational qualifications, research experience, date of birth etc., along with copies of mark sheets of all examinations. All original documents should be produced at the time of interview for verification. Applications without enclosures
and/or incomplete in any respect shall be rejected.
8. The Centre will not provide accommodation for candidates appearing for the interview.
