The Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS) is a society registered under Act XXI of 1860 and the corresponding State Act viz. the West Bengal State Registration Act 1961, with its headquarters at 2A & 2B, Raja S. C. Mallick Road, Calcutta – 700 032. It has a Governing Council with a number of members elected or nominated and the Registrar as Non-Member Secretary. The Council has the functions, duties and power as envisaged in the Memorandum and Bye Laws and as per provisions of the relevant Act.
Applications are invited in plain papers containing full bio-data for the recruitment of one Research Associate (RA-I) under the CSIR funded project (Duration of the project: 01.05.2017 to 31.03.2020).
Essential Qualifications: Candidates must have (a) a Ph.D. degree in chemistry in the subarea of organic chemistry and (b) average 55% marks in B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree.
Experience: Experience in chemical synthesis and structural characterization using various modern spectroscopic techniques would be advantageous. Preference will be given to the candidates having experience in multistep synthesis of complex natural products.

Duration : Initially for 1 year but may be extendable on yearly basis depending on performance
Term of Appointment : As per CSIR guidelines and also IACS norms
Age limit : Below 35 years. Age relaxation is applicable as per Govt. rule.
Emoluments : Rs.36,000/- + HRA/MA as per prevalent rules
