IIT Kanpur announces for Research Associate opening | PhD eligible

The Department of Biological sciences and Bioengineering (BSBE) at IIT Kanpur was established in September 2001 with the aim of providing a multidisciplinary research and teaching program in modern biology and bioengineering. The department offers both undergraduate (B.Tech) and postgraduate programs (M.Tech and Ph.D) and the faculty conduct research in diverse areas of basic and applied biology. Research interests of the department include cell & molecular biology, genetics & developmental biology, structural & computational biology, Bioinformatics, bioremediation, tissue engineering and bioprocess engineering. The department has developed extensive research facility and infrastructure to support the teaching and research activities.

Applications in plain paper are invited for the temporary and contractual post of a Research Associate III in the sponsored project entitled, “Research on Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs): Searching of Paradigms for Selective and Reversible Hydrogen Storage at Ambient and Near Ambient Temperatures”. The project is funded by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Govt. of India.

Desired Profile : Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry with 2 years of research experience after Ph.D.

Preferred : The candidate should have experience of working in the field of metal-organic framework structures/ synthetic inorganic chemistry

Salary : Rs. 40,000/- (consolidated)

Duration of appointment : 1 year
